Kyra Thelen
Survivor • Advocate • Mentor
Born in Lancaster, California, and the oldest of six, Kyra is driven to help others—shaped by an early ADHD diagnosis, childhood trauma, and a lifelong commitment to resilience.
Early Life
Kyra’s parents divorced before she turned one. She and her mother lived with her grandparents until they found their own place, and for years she moved between households. When her father relocated out of state during her middle school years, Kyra traveled by plane two to three times a year to maintain contact.
Setbacks
From a young age, Kyra experienced a home environment marked by control and a volatile temper from her father—including psychological, economic, and spiritual abuse—deeply affecting her emotional and mental well-being. ADHD further challenged her academics and social skills.
Resilience
Despite these challenges, Kyra succeeded in college and built a healthy, loving relationship with a supportive partner. Today, she channels her experience into service—helping women navigate their own difficulties and heal from trauma with compassion, clarity, and practical support.
